Filth! Filth! Filth! is looking for readers.
Come join the most exciting literary event in Sheffield history ever.
Filth! Filth! Filth! is an upcoming reading event (date TBD) showcasing the weirdest, wildest, most entertaining stories Sheffield has to offer.
We’re not interested in uptight, self-serious literary works. We want stories, poetry and prose that feel fresh, fun, exciting, and dangerous.
The readings themselves will be mercifully short. Five writers, with five minutes to share their stuff, in a location that serves alcohol. This event is about connecting with likeminded people as it is sharing your work.
If you’re just interested in attending the night: just subscribe to this newsletter and I’ll let you know.
If you want to read your work to a live audience: you can apply here.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Prose or poetry that’s not longer than 5 minutes (around 650 words)
Something has to happen. Pieces that just focus on vibes aren’t for us. We want people to go on a journey (no matter how small!)
It must be fun. That doesn’t mean it has to be funny or lighthearted (we like dark shit) but there’s got to be an entertaining energy to the piece.
We want stuff that feels rebellious, naughty and a bit dangerous.
It should try to push the boundaries, try something different, be bold. If you’ve had an idea that you’ve thought is too weird, that sounds perfect for us
You must feel OK with reading your work to an audience
We’ll be reviewing all entries as they come in and will endeavor to try and respond to all of them.
